How we meditate

 

It is advised that all Vedic Meditation and advanced meditation techniques are practiced in comfortable surroundings in a comfortable chair in the beauty of your own silence.

We don't force ourselves when we practice Vedic Meditation. We don't need to put ourselves into any uncomfortable position that would put undue strain on our bodies unless we are practiced in such a position.

We find a suitable chair with a straight back to ensure we are comfortable. Not everywhere is suitable though as we don't want to become too comfortable that we fall alseep

We might want to avoid close distractions and loud noises to start with. Finding a place to meditate that is peaceful can often assist with the process

You might find a place at home that is both comfortable and tranquil. Choosing a room or chair you are comfortable with is best to ensure your practice becomes both regular and enjoyable

Choosing a location and sitting position that suits you it is a great way to get into a routine of regular practice. Many meditators comments that they look forward to retreating to their favourite seat at the end of the day or early in the morning to start off their day in the best possible way. By meditating !

We might find in time we can meditate anywhere regardless of external distractions. Advanced meditators might be meditating around you in the street, in a cafe, on a train, on a bus or a plane and you might not even know it. This comes with practice but you will find that what you have learned is a priceless tool to take with you anywhere you go for the rest of your life
